Usual scenario. Finish work, good food, consume alcohol and chill out.

This morning I found my heaven, cooking to Bachs Cello Suite 1.

Two Wagyu beef burgers topped with mozzarella, one topped with fried German pepperoni, the other with fried streaky bacon (American style bacon), topped further with pickled gherkins and tomato sauce with a little English mustard mixed in on toasted brioche buns.

Lose the ketchup (er...tomato sauce), and they look perfect.

NO! Lol.

With the mustard (English not U.S.). it adds a nice tang to any burger.

I’m fine with English mustard. I love the heat from it, it doesn’t taste watered down like generic yellow mustard you commonly find here in the U.S.. My favorite is whole grain mustard, but that’s due to the texture as much as the taste.

But back to the tomatoes. Is it just a tomato puree? Or does it have vinegar, like ketchup? I could probably deal with the former, but the latter is a solid no-go for me.

It‘s traditional Heinz tomato ketchup.

I like mayo to a degree but prefer garlic mayo and garlic mayo just wouldn’t of been right here.

You lost me at Heinz.

Nearly got me back with the garlic mayo. But nope, just stuck on the Heinz. Ketchup is just one of the few foods that I have no taste for whatsoever. Right up there with olives.

But hey, if that’s your thing, more power to you!
